Born in Castions di Strada (Udine), he lived and worked in Codroipo (UD).
He taught goldsmith art at the Giovanni Sello Art School in Udine, in the jewelry design department. He succeeded in expressing the exquisite quality of his jewelry in every piece, especially his polychrome terracottas.
The fluid flow of the compositions and the overlapping of the planes created a visual impact with a suggestive spatial scansion, establishing a dialectical relationship between the materials used.
His "pitto-sculptures" displayed a strong character, demonstrating that the sculpture had a life of its own. Thanks to the energetic radiance of color applied with great lightness to the surface, the combination of compositional rigor and lyricism was both harmonious and measured.
Piero De Martin was known for the creativity of his creations, characterized by shapes that represented spatiality, harmony, and research.
It is a true honor to host a permanent tribute to this great, internationally renowned artist and to share several of his works with our guests.
